How To Qualify For Grant

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  • Must own and occupy the property as their primary residence.
  • Household income must fall below a certain percentage of the area median income (AMI), often set by federal, state, or local guidelines.
  • The property must be a single-family home
  • Must have current homeowner's insurance on the property.
  • The property should be in need of repairs or maintenance that directly affects the homeowner’s safety or living conditions, if applying for repair-related assistance.
  • Must not be in an active bankruptcy proceeding, or if in bankruptcy, must have the court’s approval to receive assistance.
  • Must disclose if they have received or applied for other grants or financial assistance and provide details on their status.
  • Must provide necessary documentation such as proof of income, proof of property ownership, recent mortgage statements, and proof of insurance.
  • Must comply with all legal and regulatory requirements related to the grant program, including any reporting or documentation requirements.
  • The homeowner must demonstrate that they live in the property as their primary residence, with exceptions for certain types of grants that might assist landlords or rental properties.
  • Must complete and submit a grant application and provide all required documentation for verification.
